ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 9, 2009) The Ticonderoga-class cruiser USS Vicksburg (CG 69) performed a defense formation aside the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eiseinhower (CVN 69) during the Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 8 composite unit training exercise (COMPTUEX). COMPTUEX was a training exercise to test capabilities and ensure readiness prior to deployment.
