Persian Gulf (Apr. 6, 2005) A plane captain signals the pilots of a C-2A Greyhound, assigned to the "Providers" of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron Three Zero (VRC-30), to start the starboard engine in preparation for launch aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is conducting operations in support of multi-national forces in Iraq and maritime security operations in the Persian Gulf. Carl Vinson will end its deployment with a homeport shift to Norfolk, Va., and will conduct a three-year refuel and complex overhaul.
